As they live in Darwin, and it was all a bit of a fiasco at the viewing and funeral my parents hadn’t visited Kyle’s actual crash site. On this visit down for Connor’s birthday they asked to go. My Mother was physically unable to come up and down the steep terrain to get to the actual place where Kyle died, but my Dad, despite his own physical limitations, was determined to come down to the very spot. It was a bit emotional for us all, and a drink at a local winery (Edgcome Brothers) on the way home was just the ticket. I think it was especially hard on my Dad, who was very close to Kyle – he was the one who originally named him “Mr Muscle”, his “No 1 Man”. My Dad is especially proud that Kyle’s son, CASH KYLE HERRIOTT, carries his surname.
