Life of Kyle · Ways We Remember Kyle

Bereaved Parents Breathe Again Meetup Group

As part of my grieving for my son I attended The Compassionate Friends Bereavement Group in Heathridge where parents whose children have died support each other. I thought it might be a good thing to have a similar group, of parents who understand what it is to have lost a child, and the good and bad days that follow, but in a more social and relaxed setting. So not so much an actual support group as a social group with empathetic members.

Vince, my husband, suggested the Meetup Group platform as I started a group and we did have a couple of get togethers, a Coffee and Cake morning at Leapfrogs (the last place I saw Kyle alive) and a Christmas in July Function at the Duke. I did organise a few other events but there wasn’t much interest. We only had 8 members in total and the thing fell away as it obviously wasn’t filling the need I thought there might be for people.

Anyway at least I gave it a go, as part of my own grieving and recovery process.
