Life of Kyle · Ways We Remember Kyle

Reaching my Goal 2019!

This year has been a very log battle with my broken leg from 15.2.2019 in Bali not healing, needing a second surgery, a raging bone infection with a superbug (MRSA) and the IV Vancomycin treatment for weeks that almost killed me!

Going from wheelchair, to walking frame, to elbow crutches then walking stick at only 56 years old was very challenging, and then to have to have my leg rebroken and start allover again was almost soul destroying, and to be honest when I was in hospital for almost 2 weeks with raging fever and no one knew why I really thought my number might be up! Luckily it wasn’t – I was taken by ambulance and put into bay 13 (Cash’s number) and then admitted on the ward into bed 23 (Kyle’s number) so I felt they were with me through it all.

Being incapacitate limited my ability to visit the three sites I associate with Kyle, the dog beach, the crash site at Gigiganup and Pinnaroo where we have his memorial rock. We planned a holiday to the Isle of Skye and my goal all year was to be able to visit all three of Kyle’s special places on my own two legs before I left for my holiday.

For a long while I wasn’t sure I could make it – but I did, just before we left for the UK.
